Gore - "the Trout Capital" of New Zealand is a plesant town with a "farming atmosphere". You will have lovely mountain views on the drive back home. 40 min drive. Te Anau is known as "the walking capital of the world", but it's also a nice place to spend the day, visiting the glowworm caves, the Wildlife Park, the DOC information centre & museum, go souvenir shopping or watch a good movie at the cinema. 50 min drive. In Queenstown there is a constant holiday atmosphere - not many tourists miss visiting this beautiful city when travelling in New Zealand. Therefore there is a great choice of restaurants, shops and tourism facilities. Take the gondola up the mountain for splendid views. 60 min drive. Drive south to Invercargill, Southlands mayor city. A genuine kiwi city with friendly people and beautiful parks. Cheaper shopping than in Queenstown and Te Anau and the home of Southland Museum and Art Gallery. 60 min drive.
